Lucy likes a cheeky chop!

Hiya guys,

Bit of a random post today, and I really should be packing instead of faffing around on here (can't see myself leaving for uni bright and early tomorrow morning at this rate!) but I just wanted to ask your opinion on a very important subject, hair.

I'm suffering from serious hair boredom at the moment, growing your hair takes for-bloody-ever, so I'm thinking of ways I can make it a bit more interesting without looking like a five year old boy with a bob (such a hair nightmare). I think I might just go for a super blunt fringe (not too adventurous, I know). Have a look at my hair-spiration and maybe let me know what you think?

What are your thoughts, yay or nay? Has anyone had any serious hair disasters in the past, or had a hair cut that they have absolutely LOVED? I'm in such a massive hair rut, I'd love to know!

I will carry on chatting about my favourite products from 2011 in my next couple of posts!

Hope you're having a fabulous Friday and thank you so much for all the lovely and helpful comments in my last few posts!

Lots of love,
Lucy xxx

  2. I'm in a hair rut too, there's not actually anything wrong with my hair I'm just a bit bored! I've had a blunt fringe cut in quite a few times over the last few years, it's a really quick way of revamping your look. I say go for it, I think you'd suit it!

  3. I do love front fringes on dark hair, it looks so very dramatic!
I cut myself a front fringe in the summer and I loved it, I got so many compliments and it really refreshed my look, so go for it! If you have a pair of hairdressing scissors be daring and do it yourself..

  5. I think it would look great! Fringes do get to be a pain though, you end up having to get your hair cut more often as they grow so fast.

  8. @Lydia Clip in is such a good way to go, such a good idea! xx

@Emma It's so frustrating when there's nothing technically wrong isn't it? You kind think if it's not broke don't fix it, and I sometimes really regret changing it when bored. Thank you for the encouragment, think I might just go ahead and do it! xxx

@inbeautyland OOhh you're really tempting me! I'd really want to do it myself but I can't draw a straight line without a ruler so not sure how my hair would fair! How do you do it?! xxx

@Laura I hope so! Hopefully it'll grow out quickly even if it doesn'! xx

@Lottie Loves Beauty Yeah that's my only issue with it if I like it! Although I suppose when it gets a bit longer I could style it like Nicole Ritchie did maybe? xx

@Josie Oh crikey! How exciting, thank you! I'll definitely go have a look now xxxx

@Mica McLaren - Make Up Junkie - Yeah my hair is growing at a manic rate at the moment so I'll probably have a fringe for like 2 days! xxx

  10. I had a cut like this when I was fifteen but it made me look like I had a massive forehead so I don't it's not for everybody. Maybe consult a hairstylist? Last time I had my hair cut they talked about what works for different face shapes etc.
If you really like it though I'd say go for it no matter what anyone else says.

  13. I love my fringe! I've been keeping it up (trimming it myself) and once you get it down , it's easy to maintain if you decide you like it. It always depends on your face shape though, mine is quite long and oval so it helps to split up my face! haha.
Be adventurous! definitely give it a try. Before I first had one cut I was bricking it, but after I was like omg. why didn't I have this sooner!
Out of the pics, I like mena suvari's cut the most, choppy, not too straight, easy to manage!

I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide :)

  15. THANKYOU so much for your lovely comment on my blog!
Fringes always seem amazing at the time, i have a side fringe even though they do take some upkeep! i LOVE mine :) so if you decide you don't like a full fringe you could just make it a side one, but you can just always just grow it out, if you don't like it! i say go for it. you only live once.
although once i decided to dye my hair red and it came out pink! was so mad as i even had it done at the hair dressers, it cost me £90 to have it done and another £40 to have it fixed. i can safely sa i;ve never been there since!

  16. definitely try the blunt fringe! if you go to a good salon they'll trim it too in between cuts ( if you like it that is).

I am very prone to hair disasters and was one of those silly people who thought an undercut was a good idea.... fyi it wasn't! ( it suits some people but I'm far too girly girly to suit one, I should've embraced my inner gaga / cheer lloyd but that's really not me!)

    oops!

  22. That picture of Nicole Ritchie is the exact one I took to my hairdresser back in October! I ended up growing my fringe out into a side fringe in the end because it didn't come out quite the same because my hair is so(!!) much thicker but that's why a fringe is the best way to change your look as it's so easy to change if you don't like it! I cut my hair into a really short bob about 4 years ago now and it was the biggest mistake of my life...I am definitely all for long hair!! xxx
